Salford City football Club

FA Cup

Article posted:

Richie Wellens will take charge of his first Salford game as manager when Hartlepool United visit in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday!

The Ammies enter the competition at the First Round stage, and will be looking to progress to the Second Round for just the second time in the Club’s history.

Coincidentally Hartlepool were the visitors on that occasion back in December 2015, but the fortunes of both clubs have changed since then. Pools were the League Two club while Salford were in the Northern Premier League, tier seven of the pyramid, and things are tighter now with Dave Challinor’s side in the National League play-off positions and The Ammies 10th in League Two.

It’s the start of a new era for Salford under Wellens, and it will be exciting to see how his side set up and play!

Stephen O'Halloran, Salford CityUnfortunately fans aren’t able to attend due to lockdown and COVID restrictions, but the game will be live to watch on live.salfordcityfc.co.uk.
