Liam Hogan, Salford City, Wembley, The National League, EFLProgress has been very steady since we formed in 1940, but the consistent theme for Salford has always been going up.

In the early days of the Eccles & District League we were only relegated once, but after winning Division 3 in 1958-59 we then went on to win the Division 2 title in 1959-60 too.

We then enjoyed success in the Manchester League Division 1 in 1968-69 before the successful 1970s era when we won the Manchester League Premier Division four times in five seasons from 1974-75 to 1978-79.

When Salford turned semi-professional we joined the Cheshire League, but soon became members of the NWCFL where we were long-time members. In the 1990s we were relegated, but were restored to the Premier Division due to a league restructuring.

A second place finish in the 2007-08 season saw us promoted to the Northern Premier League Division 1 North, and in the 2014-15 season we lifted a first league title since 1978-79. The investment of the Class of ’92 in 2014 helped us to that title, then to further promotions in 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2018-19 to reach the Football League for the first time in our history!
