Salford City midfielder Tom Walker has been selected in the England C squad that will take on Wales C in March!
Paul Fairclough today announced his 16-man squad to face Wales at The Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday 19th March (KO 19:45).
It is the third call-up for 23-year-old Walker who also played in Ireland over the summer and featured in the Three Lions’ last fixture against Estonia Under-23s.
“It’s a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to it being at Salford,” said Walker, who scored on his England debut last summer.
“If I could get a goal for England at our ground it would be that bit more special!
“I’ve seen the squad and recognise a few lads from the last game so it’ll get good to see them again and meet up.
“Working with Paul is really enjoyable too, he makes everyone welcome so it feels relaxed, and hopefully we can all enjoy playing together for England.”
The friendly will be a big occasion for The Peninsula Stadium which hosts it’s first international game since opening in November 2017. Admission will be by cash on the gate (Adults £5, Concessions £2, Under-5s FREE).
