Salford City is pleased to announce that Theo Vassell has signed a short-term deal at the Club!
The centre-back has been with The Ammies since the summer, but struggled with tendonitis and has been regaining his fitness.
A former trainee at Stoke City, the 24-year-old has Football League experience from spells with Port Vale and Macclesfield Town.
He spent the 2020-21 campaign with Wrexham, scoring four goals in 31 appearances as the Welsh side finished eighth in the National League, a point outside the play-offs.
Now he says he is excited to be able to play again after being given a contract at The Peninsula Stadium until the new year.
“I am delighted to be here, it’s been a long time coming; five months out and getting back fit.
“I’m grateful to the Manager and obviously the physio department for helping me since the end of June, and having the patience then giving me the chance to get fit and earn a contract here.
“I’m looking forward to now being back on the pitch, I’ve worked hard to get back fit and now I’m in a good position.
“First and foremost I’m a centre-back, I love to get on the ball, try and play when I can, but first thing’s first is to defend, defending’s my game and that’s what my number one goal on the pitch would be, to keep as many clean sheets as possible.”
Theo’s registration has gone through in time for him to be eligible for Saturday’s trip to Scunthorpe United; welcome to Salford Theo!
