Nestled between Prestwich Golf Club and Kersal Moor, The Fed is a charity and among Salford’s biggest local employers – as well as one of Salford City Football Club’s closest neighbours – situated just a five-minute walk from the Peninsula Stadium.
Our history dates back over 150 years, providing social care to thousands of individuals and families living in the Great Manchester Jewish community.
Today The Fed’s headquarters are situated in a picturesque five-acre site at Heathlands Village, a state-of-the-art care home for some 150 older people. More than 350 staff work in the care home or in the Fed’s Community Services teams, also based in the Village.
The site provides a friendly, attractive, and modern workplace for office-based workers, care and nursing staff, catering and hospitality teams, and operational teams including housekeeping, maintenance staff, porters, and drivers.
Additionally, it houses The Fed’s bustling community teams, with social workers, community advisors and volunteer coordinators who work closely with Local Authorities – particularly regarding Covid-19 safety – offering assessment, advice, ongoing support, and advocacy services for people in need.
Fed staff enjoy some incredible perks, including generous annual leave, life assurance schemes, a wealth of training and development opportunities, and recognition programmes such as Employee of the Month, Employee of the Year, and milestone service awards for long-serving staff.
The Fed is delighted by our developing friendship with Salford City FC, and our collaboration in supporting people in the local community. We are committed to providing not only the highest standard of social care, but exciting employment opportunities for local people.
