Salford City came away from South London with a point following a 0-0 draw at Sutton United.
In a tight game between two of the division’s more defensively solid sides, chances were as expected at a premium.
Brandon Thomas-Asante had a goal disallowed for an alleged handball in the first half, after rounding goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis to tap into an empty net.
Sutton’s Donovan Wilson then hit the post in first half stoppage time before Ryan Watson went close in the second half, and with minutes remaining Tom King denied Isaac Olaofe and Matt Smith headed over.
But Sutton came into the evening having won 10 of their previous 11 home games, so a clean sheet and a point wasn’t a bad overall outcome.
