Salford City is pleased to announce that defender Scott Wiseman has signed a new deal at the club!
The 33-year-old will stay at The Peninsula Stadium for another season after helping us to win promotion into the Football League from the Vanarama National League in 2018-19.
Wiseman signed for The Ammies after being released from Chesterfield, and actually made the most appearances in a single season of his career as well as scoring once.
The right-back has played at each level from League Two up to the Championship with the likes of Hull City, Rochdale, Barnsley and Scunthorpe United, and having been such a fixture in the team in 2018-19 his experience will be welcome as we embark upon our first season in the Football League.
Graham Alexander said: “For me, when we discussed signing Wisey last year we put down in our thoughts when we spoke, we said this is what we believe he can give us which was a consistent performance at a professional level which will enhance our environment and encourage the younger players how to live their life.
“He’s still fit as anything, he’s one of the quickest in the squad and he tactically knows the game so he did absolutely everything that we hoped and expected him to do last season, so for me and the club it was a no brainer to extend that for another year.
“We know he can certainly play at League Two and he’s a valuable member of what we did last year, and I expect him to replicate that this year as well.”
