Luke Burgess, Bruno AndradeSalford City will be angling for a first league victory against Morecambe on Tuesday night.

The Shrimps visit The Peninsula Stadium for a second time this season, after a 2-0 defeat in the group stage of the EFL Trophy back in September.

Their scheduled visit in 2019-20 was cancelled when the season was ended early, so our only other previous meeting was a 2-2 draw at the Globe Arena in September 2019.

A scintillating performance swept aside Bradford City on Saturday, and manager Richie Wellens will be hopeful of a repeat from his side.

Speaking after the 3-0 victory, the manager said:

“They’ve set the standards now, we’ve just spoke about it in there.

“We’ll come in tomorrow (Sunday), make sure anyone that needs topping up we get a bit of work in them, the lads that have played make sure they recover well so Monday we come in ready to train with our thinking caps on to learn about what Morecambe can do.”

There are no fresh injury concerns for The Ammies, with James Wilson and Darron Gibson remaining out while midfielder Richie Towell is back in training.

MORECAMBE

Ash Eastham, Jordan Turnbull, James Wilson, Salford City, Morecambe, Salford City vs MorecambeDerek Adams’ side enjoyed a blistering start to the season with four wins from their opening five games, and after a blip appear to be steadying themselves again. The Shrimps arrive back at Salford unbeaten in four league games, drawing the last three. That record was under threat on Saturday away at Scunthorpe until Aaron Wildig’s 93rd minute equaliser rescued a point.

With 13 points from seven games on the road, Morecambe are top of the away table with a record of W4 D1 L2 so will head into the game confident of leaving with a result. However to do so they will have to become the first team to win at Salford in the league this term.
