Matthew Lund arrived at Salford from Rochdale ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

The midfielder's career started at Stoke City after coming through the academy at Crewe Alexandra, although he had a number of loan moves before leaving for his first spell at Rochdale in 2013. Eight goals in 40 league appearances helped Dale to promotion to League One in his first season before establishing in the third tier.

A move to the Championship with Burton Albion materialised in 2017, then in January 2018 he moved to Bradford City on loan before joining Scunthorpe United in the summer. In January 2020 he returned to Rochdale for a second spell, signing an 18-month contract after which he left Spotland to join The Ammies.

In a prosperous first season the 31-year-old contributed seven goals, the second-most in the squad, and subsequently trigged an additional year.

Previous Clubs: Stoke City, Hereford United (loan), Oldham Athletic (loan), Bristol Rovers (loan), Southend United (loan), Rochdale, Burton Albion, Bradford City (loan), Scunthorpe United
