Vastly experienced in non-league, central midfielder Lois Maynard signed for Salford shortly after missing out promotion to the Football League with Tranmere Rovers.
Born down the road in Cheetham Hill, Maynard is a local lad and started playing in the North West Counties Football League for the likes of Daisy Hill, Chadderton, Flixton and Winsford United. After being named Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year at Winsford, Maynard was signed by FC Halifax Town in preparation for their return to The Conference.
He played an integral part as The Shaymen reached the play-offs in their first season back, and while they didn’t reach the same heights in 2014-15, Maynard’s 12 goals in 39 appearances caught the eye of Tranmere Rovers who signed him after Halifax let his contract run down. Maynard spent two further seasons at Prenton Park, reaching the play-off final in 2016-17, before moving to The Peninsula Stadium.
In his first season Maynard scored six goals in 35 appearances, including three goals in four games as captain. He made it back-to-back promotions with Salford after winning the Promotion Final at Wembley in May 2019, giving him the chance to play in the Football League for the first time.
Internationally Maynard has 10 caps for St. Kitts & Nevis since making his debut in 2015.
Previous Clubs: Daisy Hill, Chadderton, Flixton, Winsford United, FC Halifax Town, Tranmere Rovers.
