Welsh defender Liam Shephard signed a two-year deal at Salford in July 2021 after leaving Newport County.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a solid campaign with The Exiles, reaching the League Two Play-Off Final and earning a place in the Carabao Cup Team of the Tournament as Newport reached the Fourth Round for the first time.
His early days were spent in the academies of Cardiff City and Swansea City, where Liam made his senior debut in the FA Cup in 2016 as well as having a couple of loan spells at Yeovil Town. He then moved to Peterborough United, but after a year signed for Forest Green Rovers and reached the play-off semi-finals in 2018-19.
In two seasons at The New Lawn, Liam scored seven goals in 67 appearances and made his name as one of the division's best full-backs. After signing for Salford, he said he went with his gut feeling!
