Pacy forward Danny Lloyd joined the club in July 2018 from League One Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old made a name for himself in non-league during spells at AFC Fylde and then Stockport County in 2016-17 when he finished as the club’s top scorer, triggering a move to The Posh.
Lloyd started his career in the youth ranks at Southport and had loan spells at Chorley and Skelmersdale United before joining Colwyn Bay for his first spell. In January 2012 he moved to Lincoln City, but re-joined Colwyn at the end of the season then moved back up to The Conference in January when Tamworth signed him.
The winger was on the move again in the summer as he joined AFC Fylde ahead of the 2013-14 season and he finished joint-top scorer as The Coasters won promotion to the Conference North via the play-offs. He stayed for another couple of seasons when Fylde twice missed out on promotion to non-league’s top flight before a move to Stockport County.
Lloyd’s 29 goals and 19 assists saw him rightly earn a place in the Team of the Season, and after his contract at Stockport ran out, Peterborough pounced. He scored 13 goals in 37 outings in 2017-18 including a hat-trick against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup.
