We welcomed Ash Hunter back to Salford on a permanent deal in the summer of 2020.
The winger joined initially on loan from Fleetwood Town in January 2020, and impressed with five goals in 11 appearances before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. After his loan spell ended, a deal was agreed for the 25-year-old to return on a two-year deal.
After being released by Burton Albion, Hunter joined Ilkeston where his performances caught the eye of Graham Alexander at Fleetwood and the manager brought him to the League One side in 2015. A popular figure at Highbury, Hunter made over 200 appearances and scored 38 goals before being allowed to leave on loan by Joey Barton.
At Salford Hunter's energy and dynamism made him an immediate fan favourite, with his debut coming against Walsall in January 2020. His first goal arrived before the end of the month away at Cambridge United, and he ended the premature end to the season with four goals in three games including both goals in the 2-0 win against Bradford City. His first effort was voted by the fans as Goal of the Season.
Previous Clubs: Burton Albion, Ilkeston, Fleetwood Town.
