Brandon Thomas-Asante, Salford City, NWFAsBrandon, meanwhile, has been put forward for The Athletic Rising Star award after a brilliant breakthrough campaign. The youngster was signed to the Development Squad early on in the 2019-20 season and made his debut in the Leasing.com Trophy against Aston Villa U21s, but caught the affections of Ammies supporters from December after a dazzling display at Bradford City. He went on to finish the campaign with six goals in 26 appearances, second to Adam Rooney as the top goalscorer, but faces stiff competition for the accolade from the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mason Greenwood.

Summer signing Jason Lowe has also been nominated in the League One Player of the Year category for his season at Bolton Wanderers.

Head over to the North West Football Awards website to vote for the lads and make sure they’re shortlisted for the Finals!

Voting closes on Monday 12th October.
