Salford City have had their first interview with new signing, Oscar Threlkeld!
It was announced last week that the 25-year-old will sign a two-year-deal and now that he’s come back from his summer holiday we’ve been able to sit and have a chat with him at The Peninsula Stadium!
“I feel like I’ve got energy, desire and attitude.”, says the versatile player about what he can add to the squad.
“I feel like I’ve got that end product and I get people into the game and communication.”
Having progressed through Bolton Wanderers’ academy, Threlkeld is already familiar with our very own Tom Walker! He’s looking forward to playing with him again.
“He’s a good lad.” he said. “It’d be nice to see him again!”
“I’ve not actually spoken to him since my arrival here so it’d be nice to see him and see what he has to say.”
Living in the area, Threlkeld explained how being so close to home was a huge attraction to joining the club with big ambitions.
“It’s an up and coming club and they’ve had four promotions in five seasons so it’s a club that’s certainly on a high.
“I think both me and the club will rise to the top”
Short and simple was his answer when asked about his objective for the 2019/20 season with Salford!
With such high ambitions, Oscar is looking forward for the work to begin.
“I’ve not had the best of seasons, so it’ll be nice to get on the ground running in a couple weeks time.”
“I am excited.” he said.
“I can’t wait to get back into it!”
