SALFORD CITY are pleased to announce the signing of defender Nathan Pond from Fleetwood Town!
The 33-year-old centre-back joins us for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal, having been at Fleetwood since 2003.
The Cod Army were in the North West Counties Football League when Pond joined them, and he even holds a Guinness World Record for being the only player to play for the same football team in seven different divisions!
Pond was bought back into the Fleetwood fold by new Salford manager Graham Alexander after a loan spell with Grimsby Town in 2012-13, and in 2015 was made club captain. At the end of the 2015-16 season he broke the record for Fleetwood Town appearances and he retains that distinction to this day.
We would like to wish Nathan a warm welcome to The Peninsula Stadium, and hope his stay is a successful one!
