We are delighted to report that our local mental health charity centre raised a brilliant £619.72; a record bucket collection for them!
As part of our Mind Match Day, co-ordinated with the EFL and their official charity partner Mind, the volunteers were at the ground for the visit of Colchester United.
While we didn’t achieve a victory on the pitch, off it this collection was certainly a success.
The money raised will go towards funding Mind’s activities in helping to provide support to people struggling with mental health, and raise awareness.
Emily Meagher, Fundraising Officer at Mind in Salford said: “On the day, we were overwhelmed with the generosity of the local Salford community in helping us to raise over £600 for Mind in Salford – our best bucket collection yet!
“The partnership between ourselves and the EFL is proving to be huge success in harnessing the power of football to; Raise awareness of mental health, improve the approach of mental health in sport, and raise funds to deliver life changing national and local support.
“A huge thank you to all at Salford City Football Club and to each and every volunteer that helped us on the day!”
