Michael O'Connor signs for Salford City, Michael O'Connor, Salford CitySalford City is pleased to announce the signing of Michael O’Connor on a deal until the end of the season.

The midfielder joins us from Lincoln City who he won promotion from Sky Bet League Two with last season.

It’s the second time the 32-year-old has been promoted from the division having also gone up with Rotherham United in 2012-13.

A former Northern Ireland international, O’Connor graduated from the Crewe Alexandra academy and made over 80 appearances for The Railwaymen before moving to Scunthorpe United in 2009. A three year spell at Glanford Park was followed by two years at Rotherham which culminated in promotion via the play-offs to The Championship.

He stayed in League One with Port Vale where he played with Chris Neal for two years, then had two seasons at Notts County before moving to Lincoln and winning promotion in his first season.

Bringing a wealth of league experience with him, we would like to welcome Michael to The Peninsula Stadium and wish him a successful stay!
