Salford City is pleased to announce the signing of youngster Marcus Dackers!
The 18-year-old arrives following a six-year spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, returning to his native north west.
A former youth player at Manchester City, the forward is imposing with his height but just as impressive with his feet and was a regular for Brighton’s youth teams as well as earning multiple call-ups to Wales’ youth teams since he was 15.
Having returned from the south coast to sign a two-year deal, Marcus says he hopes to knuckle down and earn plenty of playing time in the Development Squad, as well as push for any First Team opportunities.
“I’m buzzing to be honest, I’m glad we’ve got the deal over the line because it’s something I’ve been really looking forward to doing so I’m really happy to be here.
“There’s a clear pathway here that’s been made very clear to me, it looks like I’ll always be given opportunities if I work hard for them, and my role is to make the most of those opportunities and try to make the most of the pathway here.
“My aim is to hopefully try to get a little bit of First Team experience, try to settle down back up north because it’s home to me. But yeah hopefully try to get some First Team experience while I’m here and just get lots of games in and around the B team as well as try to get a couple for the First Team.”
Welcome to Salford Marcus, and we hope you have a successful time at the Club!
