Liam Hogan has signed for Stockport County after choosing to accept a two-and-a-half year deal at Edgeley Park.
Over the last two seasons the 31-year-old led us to back-to-back promotions into the Football League for the first time after signing ahead of our first season as a professional club.
Despite missing the start of the season with injury, he made his return in November and scored at Tranmere Rovers in the Leasing.com Trophy. Last month he surpassed 100 appearances for the club.
The captain made a total of 105 appearances for his hometown club and leaves with a 56.2% win percentage, scoring seven goals, assisting six and keeping 38 clean sheets. He won the Players’ Player of the Year after captaining us to the Vanarama National League North title.
We would like to wish Liam and his family all the very best for the future, and thank him for his services to the club both on and off the field. He has led by example, always giving his best, and will always be welcome back at The Peninsula Stadium.
"Liam Hogan, he's one of our own" 🎶
