Following today’s EFL Board Meeting it has been decided that the Leasing.com Trophy Final will be postponed.
The Ammies were supposed to be playing Portsmouth at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 5th April, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic all football activity has been affected.
An initial date of Saturday 4th April has been set for football to resume, which remains the case at the moment, however the Final has been postponed.
No new date has been suggested, but we will keep fans informed as soon as we hear anything.
An EFL statement said:
“This is appropriate given the scale and significance of the event to the football calendar, new sponsor Leasing.com, the EFL, both clubs involved and their supporters.
“Over 50,000 tickets have been sold for the showpiece final, and the EFL does not want to be in a position whereby many thousands of supporters are forced to change their plans at late notice, so the decision has been taken in the best interest of all parties.
“All ticket holders will be notified of the new date as soon as possible.”
TICKETS & LOGISTICS
For fans who had purchased tickets, these will be valid for the re-arranged fixture. Once the date is confirmed, if you are unable to attend the game, then details about how to refund will be made available.
The same applies to supporters who had booked onto the club’s official coach travel.
