Václav Hladký with thee League Two Golden Glove and League Two Team of the Season 2020-21 awardsGoalkeeper Václav Hladký has left to join Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.

The Czech arrived at The Peninsula Stadium in the summer of 2020 from Scottish side St. Mirren, and his first season in English football was a great success as Vac scooped the Club’s Player of the Year award, a place in the League Two Team of the Season and the League Two Golden Glove.

The 30-year-old kept 24 clean sheets in 53 appearances and saved a penalty in our 2020 Papa John’s Trophy Final success against Portsmouth, winning the Man of the Match award too. Naturally interest was high in Vac, and as a Club we felt we couldn’t stand in the way of an opportunity for him to play higher up in the Football League.

On behalf of everyone at Salford, we would like to thank Vac for his amazing contribution in 2020-21, and we wish him and his family all the best in the future.
