Salford City is pleased to reveal Dan Jones as our fourth signing of the summer!
The defender joins us on a two-year deal after leaving Barrow, who he helped to a top half finish in the National League in 2018-19.
24-year-old Jones has played in the Football League before with Hartlepool United and Grimsby, and he has also featured for England C including starting their 2-2 draw with Wales C at The Peninsula Stadium in March.
“I’m delighted to be here, I can’t wait to get going with this club,” he said.
“The ambition the club has, you saw last year with the promotion, they fought hard to eventually get up and got over the finish line.
“I think there’s no stopping it now, I think we can go and do it again and I think everyone around the club wouldn’t think that’s impossible to do.”
“I met the Gaffer early on, he outlined what he has planned for this year and I wanted to be on board with it and wanted to get on the train going forward.
“If people saw me here last year, I like to get on the ball a lot from the back and I like to pass it out from the back, and I think I’ve got a calmness when I’m on it.
“Obviously I want to play in the Football League, I think I can do it and promotion will be the ambition for me this year, I don’t think it’s impossible for this club with the amount of players we have here, and the talent we have, so my ambition this year will be getting up again.”
Welcome to the club Dan, we hope you enjoy a successful stay with us at The Peninsula Stadium!
