Head of Goalkeeping Carlo Nash is looking forward to returning to Wembley on Saturday with Salford.
The 47-year-old has visited both the old and the new Wembley during his career, most recently in The Ammies’ 2018-19 National League play-off triumph. He also starred for Crystal Palace in their 1997 play-off victory, and has visited the national stadium with Clitheroe, Everton and Stoke City as a player.
In this interview he talks about the difference between playing and coaching at Wembley, preparing for the game, how it is working with the goalkeepers, and expectations on the day.
“It’s great, obviously to be involved in any Final at Wembley is fantastic! I know a lot of the lads haven’t played there before…
“When you’re growing up and becoming a footballer one of the highlights of your career will be playing at Wembley so hopefully the lads are going to be up for the day and put in a decent performance on the day.”
The Papa John’s Trophy 2020 Final will be broadcast live on Sky Sports from 15:00 on Saturday, with build-up before and reaction after. If you don’t have a Sky Sports subscription, you can buy a pass on NOW TV, or there is exclusive commentary of the game on TalkSPORT.
