SALFORD CITY joint manager Anthony Johnson hailed a “brilliant” performance from his side as they won 2-0 at Nuneaton Town.

First half goals from Nick Haughton, from an exquisite free-kick, and Carl Piergianni from a Tom Walker free-kick, sealed the three points after which Salford saw the game out.

“I thought we managed the game brilliantly after going two up, deservedly so from two well-constructed goals.

“We looked really comfortable, no nerves given what’s at stake; it was a really good performance throughout, in possession and out of possession, and I’m really pleased!”
